· Enter the value into the cell (box) and press Return.
· Click again on the cell to select it.
· Point to the bottom right hand corner of the cell (the pointer will turn into a small cross).
· Click and drag the black cross down the table.
Examples of this in use in Elevate
In Building data you can use this feature to fill in the floor height…
· Enter 3.6 in row 1 of the Floor Height column and press Return.
· Click again on the cell in row 1 of the Floor Height column to select it.
· Point to the bottom right hand corner of the cell (the pointer will turn into a small cross).
· Click and drag the black cross down the table.
This automatically fills the same floor height onto each floor.
In Passenger data you can use this feature to fill in the population…
· Enter 100 in row 1 of the No of People column and press Return.
· Click again on the cell in row 1 of the No of People column to select it.
· Point to the bottom right hand corner of the cell (the pointer will turn into a small cross).
· Click and drag the black cross down the table.
This automatically fills the same population onto each floor
· Select the cell you wish to cut.
· Either click the cut button,
or
press ctrl and X on the keyboard simultaneously
· Select the cell you wish to copy.
· Either click the copy button,
or
press ctrl and C on the keyboard simultaneously
· Select the cell where you wish to paste.
· Either click the paste button,
or
press ctrl and V on the keyboard simultaneously
· Select the cell you wish to delete.
· press delete on the keyboard
In passenger data, you can do basic calculations within a cell. The cell will then display the answer.
· Enter “=”, and then the formula you wish to be calculated
Eg “=100/7” the number of people per floor(100) divided by the number of floors(7)
· Press return
This shows the answer in the cell.
You can multiply “*”, add “+” and subtract “-” in the same way.
NB you can see the calculation by looking at the large box at the top of the table. It shows the cell selected, and any formula that is used, to reach the figure displayed.
If you want to select all of the data in the table,
· click on the grey button at the top left-hand corner of the table.
The whole table goes into reverse display (white characters, on a black background).
You can then cut , copy or delete, as discussed earlier.
When entering Elevator Data and Passenger Data in advanced mode, there are various pages of data. These are shown by tabs, at the bottom of each table.
To switch between the different pages
· click on the relevant tab.
Unless you leave the cell, the data may not be stored.
· So having entered the data, press return
