Q. How do I unlock the software with the hardware key provided?

A. To activate the Hasp key:

• Log onto you machine as an administrator
• Start Elevate
• At the welcome screen, hit the Activate Key button - a program will run
• When the above program is finished, insert the hasp key - another program may run (if you have a USB as opposed to a parallel port key).
• When this is finished, press the OK key

If this does not unlock the software, then there are a number of possible problems:

1.  The USB key has been inserted before the "Activate Key" button has been clicked on. More recent versions Windows install the wrong driver for the HASP key automatically when it is first inserted. If this happens, you need to remove the incorrect driver (using Device Manager), then start again.

2.  The security settings on your computer are preventing the Aladdin drivers from being installed.  Speak to your computer administrator so that they can lower your security setting temporarily while the Aladdin device drivers are installed.

3.  The Aladdin Drivers required to activate the key are not compatible with the version of Windows that you are using.  Windows is constantly changing behind the scenes so that things that work on computers sold on Monday may not work on computers sold on Tuesday!  The latest version of the Aladdin software we have tested (Version 4.99) is here for your convenience - just download, unzip and run the exe.  Or you can visit www.aladdin.com/h4 for the very latest drivers.
